Define and drive productivity with High Performance Computing
Scalar Decisions and Microsoft cordially invite you to an exclusive presentation and discussion with David Dorfman, Microsoft HPC Specialist, on how the latest High Performance Computing (HPC) technologies help companies perform in today’s difficult economic times.
David Dorfman will also discuss how HPC has evolved over the last 20 years, from its beginnings as an exotic application platform to its modern uses in weather forecasting, product design, financial modeling, and even aircraft crew roster assignments. Microsoft’s HPC contributions will be examined, and the newest version of the Microsoft operating system family, specifically focused on HPC, will be described along with a number of other supporting technologies.
Please join us on Tuesday December 2nd, 2008 for hands on demonstrations, cutting edge insight, afternoon cocktails, and excellent networking opportunities with top industry leaders.

David Dorfman
Solution Specialist, High Performance Computing
Microsoft
David Dorfman is Microsoft's High Performance Computing Solution Specialist for Financial Services applications. He is responsible for supporting Microsoft's Customers, Partners, and Sales Force in the delivery and implementation of HPC solutions that incorporate Microsoft technologies.
David's information technology career spans more than 25 years. During the last 8 years, David has been focused on the use of HPC in Financial Services. His last major project was the design of a large scale shared computing facility available to all users via the public Internet. During this project he became familiar with many of the most difficult challenges that HPC users face. These challenges include rapid provisioning of multiple OS images, secure access to a public facility, large scale data movement, and the protection of Intellectual property embodied within HPC applications and data sets.
Prior to joining Microsoft, David worked for a major systems provider as Solution Architect, Market Lead for Financial Services, and as a development engineer.
