Toronto, Canada, April 18, 2011 Scalar Decisions Inc., the Toronto-headquartered IT solutions integrator, today announced they will partner with the Ontario Research and Innovation Optical Network (ORION) to deliver the University of Guelph's Managed Zimbra email and collaboration environment. ORION is an ultra-high-speed fibre optic network that connects Ontario's research and education institutions to one another, and to partners throughout Canada and around the world.  

The partnership follows February’s announcement that the University of Guelph would migrate their 60,000 mailboxes over to Scalar Managed Zimbra, a hosted email service that leverages cloud computing and allows the University to outsource the management and maintenance of their email system to Scalar.

ORION is up to 1,000 times faster than regular high-speed internet, and the Scalar/ORION partnership will enable the University of Guelph to leverage the cost effective, highly available, secure Managed Zimbra service over one of the largest Research & Education networks in the world, improving service for their faculty and staff.
