| Scalar/AMD Sailing Team has a successful season
Toronto, Canada, October 20, 2005 – The members of the J24 Team, CAN 3913 sponsored by SCALAR and AMD have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. The '06 racing season included a demanding schedule that built towards the Canadian National J24 Championship in Toronto, and the North American J24 Championship in Rochester, NY. A brief note about the J24 - the world-wide acceptance of J/24 design, the strong one-design rules and the strength of the International J/24 Class Association have led to the J/24 to be selected as the platform for the International Sailing Federation's (ISAF) Nation's Cup, the ISAF Women’s World Match Racing Championship, the Rolex Women's International Keelboat Championship, US Sailing's St. Francis International Masters Championship (aged 55+) and the PAN-AM Games. The International J/24 is presently built in the U.S., Argentina and Italy and has more than 50,000 people sailing 5,200 boats in 27 countries Highlights from the team CAN 3913's race record this year include:
This year the team is made up of Todd Irving - Owner and Skipper, Michael Rustom – Trimmer, Tim Bishop – Tactictian, Hamish Matthew – Bow, and Chris Woodin – Alternate. It's important to note that this season marks the first time this team has sailed together. With this in mind, plus the steady progress the team made throughout the season, CAN 3913 is looking forward to greater success in the future.
